providing music for 10:30 am (9:30 am in summer) worship service using our new
Walker digital organ and piano. Also, will need to provide music for special

St. Mary Anne Episcopal Church – 315 South Main Street, North
East, Maryland - is seeking a Director of Music to serve as our organist and
choir director. The church has a Moller 2 rank pipe organ and a piano, which are
used to accompany hymns, service music, and choir anthems at Sunday services and
for special services that are planned during the seasons of the Episcopal Church
year. There is one weekly choir rehearsal (from the beginning of September
through the end of June) and two Sunday worship services to accompany, one at
8:00 a.m. and a second at 10:00 a.m. The Director of Music reports to the Rector
and works collaboratively with the Rector and Worship Committee to provide
musical leadership for the church. This is a part-time position. The Director of Music should have proficient skills on pipe organ and piano for
accompaniment of the choir and congregation, experience and ability in choral conducting,
at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Music,
Performance, Conducting or a related field, and at least three years’ experience in a music/choir
leadership role. The annual salary is in
the range between $18,000 and $22,000. This will be based on skill level and
experience, and is negotiable.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown, is seeking an organist to lead worship at the 10:15 Sunday morning
service. (9 AM in the summer.) The service is a traditional service of Holy
Communion. Additional special services throughout the year are Christmas Eve,
Ash Wednesday, mid-week Lenten services, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter
Vigil and occasionally as many as two community services every few years. The
organist would work under the Worship and Music committee with the choir
director and would also accompany the Chancel Choir. Most of the accompaniment
of the Chancel Choir would be on piano and rehearsals for the choir are
Wednesdays from 7-8:30 PM. The Chancel Choir begins rehearsals the last Wed. in
Aug. and concludes practices in late May. St. Paul’s has a very strong music
program with about 16 members on the Chancel Choir. The organ is a Moller Pipe
Organ opus 4961 and was originally installed in 1930. In 1963, the organ was
rebuilt by Moller Organ Company and in 2012, SDG Organ Company of Millersville
rebuilt it and added some new features such as the trumpet stop. For more

Willow Street United Church of Christ, Willow Street, PA, seeks a part-time Accompanist and/or Organist beginning January 1, 2016 to work collaboratively with music director, pastors and staff to provide inspiring worship experiences each week. Piano proficiency is required; organ proficiency is preferred (Gundling Organ, 21 ranks and 2 manuals, professionally maintained). Applicants should have a well-developed musical proficiency to accompany a volunteer choir and for the express purpose of congregational singing of hymns, choruses and praise music.
This position is approximately 3-5 hours per week on site and private practice as needed. This includes one weekly Sunday service with additional services for other significant seasons/days in the church year (non-Sundays); Wednesday evening choir practice during the choral season, & attendance at Worship & Music Committee meetings as availability allows. Worship service requirements may include prelude, postlude, offertory, and accompaniment of Chancel Choir, and flexible planning is key as part of our Sunday worship experience. Candidates with a high level of proficiency for sight-reading are desired. Playing by ear and improvisation are a plus. Proficiency in a variety of musical styles is necessary including traditional, contemporary, classical, hymns, praise choruses, in helping to lead the congregation and accompany the choir, ensembles and solo vocalists. This position collaborates with music staff and others in the planning, rehearsing and administration of worship, including effective and responsive communication (email, phone, and text), and oversees the maintenance of the organ and pianos, including tuning, within the approved budget with reports as necessary for repairs or maintenance needs. Additional advantages of position include being the first contact for weddings and funerals (additional fee to be arranged by musician), and consideration can be given to the selected persons use of church instruments for private instruction.
