St. John Lutheran Church in York is in need of a temporary organist for the 10:00 liturgical service while they look to fill this position with a permanent organist and choir director. They do not wish to fill this position in this COVID environment but need a temporary/substitute organist. Duties would be to play for this service only. Bethany UMC, Red Lion, PA – Organist - Bethany is currently looking for a spiritually mature Christian to play the organ for Sunday morning worship. This includes both 8:00am and 10:30am Traditional Services – the 8:00am Service has been paused for now because of COVID-19. General responsibilities include playing for Sunday Morning Worship as well as Wednesday evening choir practice from 6:30 – 7:30 pm and other special services. The organist is also responsible to select and provide appropriate music for the Prelude, Postlude and Offertory as well as rehearse with any soloists, choral groups or instrumentalists as needed. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Desired starting date would be Sept 6, 2020, but that is negotiable as well. Episcopal Church of the Trinity, in downtown Coatesville, is searching for a vibrant Organist and Choir Director to lead our music program. The position becomes available August 2020. Trinity is a diverse congregation with music that reflects our diversity, including playing the piano. We currently have one worship service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings and are experimenting with a contemporary on-line worship service during this pandemic in order to reach a larger audience. We have a new organ: Bravura by Allen L-324e 46 Stops/Three Manuals including 8 dynamic GeniSys Voices and a Steinway Grand piano in our sanctuary. In addition to Sunday worship services, we would expect our music leader to also provide music for Holy Week services (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Saturday Vigil when occurring) and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (when occurring) as well as other special services as may arise. Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church (CLC) in Dallastown is seeking an Organist.  General responsibilities include providing organ music for 10:30 AM traditional, special worship services (Christmas and Lent), and participation in worship service planning with the pastors.  CLC's musical equipment includes a beautiful M. P. Hamilton Park United Church of Christ, Lancaster Township, PA, is a warm and friendly congregation, ready for growth and vitality, seeking to hire a Director of Music and an Organist. Both positions are permanent part-time, for a 9:30 AM Sunday service and Thursday evening choir rehearsal from 7 to 8:30 PM. We would consider employing 2 separate individuals, or just one individual, who is willing and has the necessary expertise to handle both positions. Successful candidate must be able to provide encouraging, enthusiastic, and supportive leadership for the church music ministry, which presently includes an adult choir and possible future development of a children’s choir and intergeneration choir. Applicant must have an appreciation for both contemporary and traditional church music and be proficient in the position of their choice. Bachelor of Music, or related degree, is preferred, along with prior leadership experience in music ministry. Dynamic UCC church in Elizabethtown, PA seeks an Organist to lead worship through music.  The successful candidate will possess strong musical skills playing the organ and piano, as well as skills in organization and cooperative teamwork.  Candidates should have a degree or equivalent experience, and have a broad knowledge of church music repertoire with proficiency in a wide range of musical styles.

 

The responsibilities of the Organist include: Approximately 10 hours per week ($13,000 per year) doing the following:  Accompany adult choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:45pm (occasionally other choirs); Play for two Sunday morning worship services at 9 and 10:30am (one during the summer at 9:30am); Play for a limited number of special worship services for Advent, Lent, and the occasional taizé service.

Hope United Methodist Church in Ephrata is seeking a part-time organist to provide music for its weekly worship service, as well as special services. The organist also attends one Wednesday evening choir rehearsal and works closely with the Director of Music to provide accompaniment for the Senior Choir and church soloists.
Interested candidates should possess a high level of organ and piano proficiency, as well as experience following a conductor and accompanying choirs and soloists. Neffsville Mennonite Church is seeking a part-time Organist (approx. 7 hrs. a week, including practice) for their 10:00AM worship service, as well as special services throughout the year, and weddings and funerals. The Organist must demonstrate professional skills in pipe organ both as soloist and accompanist, including knowledge of both traditional and more modern styles of hymns, anthems and service music. Neffsville has a Schantz organ with 1425 pipes and 25 chimes that was installed in 1991. The Organist is responsible to the Director of Music and Worship and also works closely with the Lead Pastor and song leaders to ensure that music remains a relevant and vital part of church programs and enhances the worship of the church.
