Holy Trinity is a congregation of the North American Lutheran Church (thenalc.org). Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, worshipping, making disciples, and serving in his name. Our worship is Biblical, liturgical, and traditional, grounded in the Holy Scriptures as reflected in the Lutheran Book of Worship (1978) and drawing from other classic and contemporary Lutheran resources. An additional 6-rank gallery division was added in 2016, the console was rebuilt with solid-state equipment in 2001, and the reservoirs were releathered in 2022. Christ Church UCC in Elizabethtown seeks an Organist/Pianist to lead worship through music. The successful candidate will possess strong musical skills playing the organ and piano as well as skills in organization and cooperative teamwork. Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lancaster is seeking a Church Musician/Organist (part-time) to start after June 18. Responsibilities: Provide music leadership that is of worthy quality and appropriate for use in a Lutheran liturgical service for all worship services; i.e., Sunday mornings and for all other worship services as authorized by the Congregation Council through consultation with the Worship & Music Committee. Recruit, develop and coordinate members to provide vocal music as cantors, soloists or in small ensembles for worship. If possible, recruit instrumentalists for festival Sundays. Regularly meet with the pastor to plan liturgies and select hymns. Purchase necessary music and music supplies within the limits of the annual budget. Attend meetings of the Worship & Music Committee and provide regular written or oral reports on activities, vocalists and the state of musical instruments of the congregation. Provide music for all weddings and funerals held at the church through consultations with wedding couples or families as requested. For services such as these the Church Musician shall receive an additional fee as specified in the congregation’s policy. The Church Musician has the right of first refusal to provide music in these cases. Another musician may provide music for these services but only with the permission of the Church Musician. As necessary arrange for capable supply organists who are familiar with liturgical worship and hymnody. Supply organists may be identified for Sunday worship, other worship services authorized by the Congregation Council, weddings or funerals. Reporting: The Pastor will be the supervisor of the Church Musician. Annual performance reviews will be completed by the Worship & Music Committee with any recommendations regarding salary or benefit adjustments to be shared with the Finance & Stewardship Committee. Compensation: The annual salary for this position shall be determined based on experience and will be paid biweekly with all proper taxes withheld. The congregation shall pay the annual membership dues for two professional organizations. Either party may terminate the contract for this position with 30 days notice. Four Sundays of vacation shall be granted each calendar year, and prorated for a starting date that is midyear. The dates for vacations must be coordinated with the pastor and reported in advance to the Worship & Music Committee. Additional time off may be approved; however, payments for these supply organists will be covered by reductions in the Church Musician’s salary. St. John’s (Hains) UCC, Wernersville, PA. We are looking to hire four choir section leaders (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass) on a part time basis. Our aim is for this group to become the core of our newly developing choir after being absent for over a year. Duties will include a Wednesday night rehearsal and one Sunday morning worship service, both usually run about an hour. Music will mostly be hymns and hymn arrangements. The schedule now will be one Sunday a month for June, July, and August. Then it will most likely be every Sunday starting in September. The church is paying $50 per person per session. Bethany UMC, Red Lion, PA – Organist - Bethany is currently looking for a spiritually mature Christian to play the organ for Sunday morning worship. This includes both 8:00am and 10:30am Traditional Services – the 8:00am Service has been paused for now because of COVID-19.
